Justin Browne MVB, MRCVS

Partner

Born and raised in Ballybrennan, Co Wexford, Justin studied veterinary medicine at University College Dublin.  After qualifying he spent the first five years of his professional career at the world famous Coolmore Stud, Fethard, Co Tipperary as a Junior Vet before returning to Ballybrennan to establish his own Practice in 1991.  His experience and skills in the field of equine medicine has led to him being an approved and respected veterinary panel member for some of the most prestigious horse sales in the world, and his opinions and expertise are regularly sought by international breeders, buyers and competitors.

Once established, Justin’s Practice continued to expand and by 1999 it employed a further three veterinary associates.  In January 2008 he formed a partnership with Simon Fahey (an associate of the Practice for several years), and together they designed and built Borovalley Veterinary Clinic which first opened its’ doors to business in summer 2009.

A keen thoroughbred breeder himself, Justin still lives nearby with his wife, Mary Jo, and their three children Ciara, Matt and Anna.

Partner

Originally from Qld, Australia, Simon grew up on a cattle property before going on to study at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. After qualifying he spent a year working at Cootamundra in outback NSW in a busy mixed veterinary practice.  He then came to Ireland and spent eighteen months working with Justin Browne here in Wexford before returning to Australia, where he looked after the thoroughbred stud at Lindsay Park (a racing stable and stud) in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. After a further six month equine breeding season in Ireland with Justin he did a six month spell at Scone Veterinary Hospital, NSW, where he was resident vet at Baramul Stud and worked next door at the beautiful Widden Stud.

In 2002 Simon came back to Justin’s Practice in Ballybrennan on a permanent basis and this ultimately led to the formation of their partnership in January 2008.  Together, Simon and Justin mapped out their ideal veterinary centre, and this dream became a reality in summer 2009 when they opened Borovalley Veterinary Clinic.  Since the opening they have continued to expand the business, most notably with the launch of the small animal side of the Practice in the autumn of 2010.

Simon lives on a farm near Ferns with his wife, Emma, and their twin baby girls (Sophie and Julia) who were born in April 2010.
